Martin_Luther_King_Jr.gif

Last week we read about Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement. Many of the students in our class were bothered by the idea of people not being treated fairly because of the color of their skin. From what we have read about Dr. King, what did he stand for? What kind of person do you think he was?

The United States is building a memorial for Dr. King. On the memorial will be a quote that is supposed to represent what he stood for. There is controversy surrounding the memorial. Click the link below to read about the memorial, the controversy, and then in the comments of this page, tell the class what your opinion on this matter is. Be sure to use evidence from the article to support your opinion.
